LCAP Community Meetings
John Swett Unified School District will be reviewing and updating the District's Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) as an element of our budget development process for the 2016-2017 school year.  As you may recall, the LCAP is the required accountability mechanism for the new Local Control Funding Formulas (LCFF) for California public schools.  School and community stakeholder participation is an integral part of the process.  The District will host a series of meetings in February to discuss the current plan and funding updates from the State, as well as looking ahead to planning for the next three years, as required by the State.  The schedule of meetings is as follows:

JSUSD Middle and High School students are being asked to take a survey at school. The California Department of Education requires schools and districts to ask students about alcohol, tobacco, and other drug issues, as well as questions about school safety and the learning environment. Participation in the survey is voluntary on the part of the student, and we hope you will encourage your child to participate so that his or her opinion and knowledge can be part of the information gleaned from the survey.

The survey is anonymous. No names or any other identifying information is connected to the answers except for the name of the school.

If you have questions, please contact Ken Nelson at knelson@jsusd.k12.ca.us or (510) 787-1286.

Please be sure to send notes when your "young scholar" is absent. If notes are not received in 72 hours, it becomes an unexcused absence and may result in truancy proceedings. Help us avoid this process from taking place by providing a note when your student returns.

Parents, if you have changed your contact information or phone number please contact  Ms. Franzoni or Ms. Miller at Carquinez with the current information.
It is very important for us to be able to contact you at all times.

Thank you.
